Michael Waters is a composer and perfroming guitarist with an unusual pathway; in the beginning he chose to avoid music as a profession, and instead adopted an approach more aligned with his own search for deeper meaning. After twenty years playing, he wrote his first two compositions, then played another thirteen years with no composing.

In 2005, he arrived at some kind of inner source, and has been composing non-stop since then, as well as performing publicly and teaching. He has produced over 120 solo and collaborative performances and five recordings, with two more in the production stage. He manages his own independant label, Ladybird Music.

He credits two teachers in particular with whom he worked in reaching this capacity: Alexandro Jodorowsky, a filmmaker/psychotherapist in Paris and Guillermo Arevalo, a Shipibo curandero from the Peruvian Amazon.

Michael also maintains his craft as a webmaster, working with his wife in their family business Ladybird Communications.

Michael is also a founder of Hollyhock, Canada's largest extended learning centre, and is the founding webmaster for BeadforLife, a poverty eradication project in Uganda.
